Sid was sexually abused throughout his childhood by the family priest. When he eventually told his mother she did not believe him and he was made to apologise for telling lies.
Hayley was sexually abused by her father from an early age. "He told me I must pinky promise that I won't tell anyone. So my dad wrapped his pinky around mine and I didn't tell anyone.”
Hayley and her mother. "He was a good husband and I absolutely adored him … really, really adored him. And I believed I was loved. I don't think anyone can imagine what it must be like to love someone more than anything in the world, to date that person, to get engaged and marry that person, to have a life and children with him, and then one day to find out that this person you love and have children with is having some kind of sexual interaction with the child that you had sex with him to have.”
Bob is both a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and a paedophile. He is in life long therapy to prevent him acting on his urges. "I know it can’t be changed, but I would like not to be seen as a sexual offender. Everything I’ve done, I’ve done myself. So now I must work out how to live with it in the best possible way.”

Bob looking at his stamp collection. "I started collecting stamps in about 1989. I love my stamps. When I see a pretty stamp I keep it. I used to collect everything and anything, now I just collect what's pretty to me.”
Comfort packs given by the police to children reporting sexual abuse. The packs are divided into age categories, with appropriate content.

James, a paedophile in the same therapy group as Bob. “I define myself as a paedophile. I always say I was born a paedophile and I will die a paedophile. I researched it, because I wanted to know more about what I was. I wanted to define myself and find out what paedophiles actually did."
