I am a photographer and author who explores human experiences – combining research, photography, interviews, archival documents and design – into a written and visually emotional narrative.
This narrative focuses on one or more themes of experiences, and is told by relating the stories of people I meet and who participate in my projects. Often these experiences are painful to speak about.
Throughout the process there is collaboration with passionate individuals from both scientific and alternative perspectives. They bring commentary and insight to the project.
Talented creatives are also consulted in early stages of the project and later assist me to produce the collected material into a book, related exhibition and other formats accessible to the viewer.
The purpose of the different formats is to engage multiple audiences – the public, universities, government, NGOs, agencies, galleries, institutions etc.
In this way the collaboration tries to contribute to awareness and discussion of the themes explored while also contributing to my own and the participants development.
